Wine Cap mushrooms like to grow in gardens, grass, around bushes and compost areas. I've found these mushrooms do well in my garden and especially around corn. I recommend breaking up the spawn in the bag, then spreading the spawn in an outdoor area that is shady and moist. Within two to three months the Mycelium should have taken hold and will fruit large mushrooms. This species prefers fruiting around June to September so it's best to start a Wine Cap bed just after the last frost or in the middle of summer.
